What is the GOST R mark?

GOST R certification is mandatory for a wide range of products. It is based on safety testing (IEC standards with Russian deviations), EMC testing and, for products in contact with food, also hygienic certification. The Hygienic Certificate is not mandatory until further notice. Working with VNIIS (a member of the CB scheme), the Executive Board of the Notified Certification Body (NCB) GOST R and GOSSTANDART of Russia, we can test and evaluate locally electrical products to GOSSTANDART's requirements. We are one of the first laboratories outside Russia working directly with GOSSTANDART. When applying for a GOST R certificate through VNIIS/UL Europe you will obtain a GOST R certificate which is valid for 3 years and must be renewed through UL International Demko after a yearly inspection. A renewal cost comes for about 30% of the original certification price.

How to start?

In order for UL Europe to assist with GOST R Certification we will need the following documentation:
Safety Test report (CB style)
CB, CCA or Demko certificate
EMC test report from UL Europe or another accredited laboratory
Demko EMC certificate or a Demko Statement of test results
Power of Attorney
Factory inspection report (CIG023)
In order to assist you with Hygienic Certification we will need additional documentation. A "Fire Safety" Certificate is required for a number of products but considering the electrical safety area of activity, only two product groups are relevant: Christmas lighting chains and refrigerators and freezers for household use.
